Lesson

Buckle Up, Energy is Driving!

Students explore the ways in which the Sun’s energy causes changes. Students will begin by observing and measuring changes in their aquariums. They measure the water level, examine plant growth, snail populations, and algae growth. They also observe how the Sun can change solid ice into liquid water, as well as how it changes liquid water in a puddle, or wet spot into a gas called water vapor. Through observation, students recognize the Sun as a form of energy that drives systems and change.
